چکیده
V. KUMARAN Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, 560 012, India. in viscoelastic fluids could be very different from that in simple fluids. In addition to the early, transition and late. stage growth, there is an intermediate stage where the scaling laws are different from those predicted by current theories of spinodal decomposition. Viscoelastic effects have not been included in the current models for the spinodal decomposition of fluids.

Formation of Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Nanofibers Part II: the elaboration of incompatibility in the electrospinning of its solutions
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) fibers with two molecular weights were prepared via electrospinning process. In this process, the concentration of spinning depended drastically on the gelation process. Also, it was experimentally smaller than obtained concentration in the solution entanglement number approach (SENA). Proof of this incompatibility was explained by the properties of PVDF a...
متن کاملDiffuse-interface modeling of liquid-vapor phase separation in a van der Waals fluid
We present simulations of isothermal liquid-vapor spinodal decomposition of a van der Waals fluid, occurring after quenching it from a single-phase equilibrium state to the unsteady two-phase region of its phase diagram, showing that the process is governed by the density gradient-driven, non-equilibrium Korteweg body force. Experimentally, most studies on spinodal decomposition have been perfo...
متن کاملA Characteristic-based Solution of Forced and Free Convection in Closed Domains with Emphasis on Various Fluids
In this paper, forced and free convection in the cavity is simulated numerically with complex boundary conditions. Temperature changes sinusoidally at the upper and right walls and the temperature of the other walls is kept at zero. The effects of Prandtl and Grashof numbers variations on flow patterns are surveyed. A wide range of materials, e.g. molten metals, gases, water, and coolant liquid...
متن کاملThermosolutal Convection of Micropolar Rotating Fluids Saturating a Porous Medium
Double-diffusive convection in a micropolar fluid layer heated and soluted from below in the presence of uniform rotation saturating a porous medium is theoretically investigated. An exact solution is obtained for a flat fluid layer contained between two free boundaries. To study the onset of convection, a linear stability analysis theory and normal mode analysis method have been used. For the ...
متن کاملQuantum spinodal decomposition.
We study the process of spinodal decomposition in a scalar quantum field theory that is quenched from an equilibrium disordered initial state at Ti > Tf to a final state at Tf ≈ 0. The process of formation and growth of correlated domains is studied in a Hartree approximation. We find an approximate scaling law for the size of the domains ξD(t) ≈ √ tξ0 at long times for weakly coupled theories,...
